Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A social worker position is available within a K-12 school setting in Chicago, IL. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide essential social and emotional support to students, families, and staff throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to address students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing challenges such as trauma, family issues, or mental health concerns
- Connect students and families with community resources and support services
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and assist in developing behavioral plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all relevant school policies and confidentiality requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid social work licensure or eligibility consistent with Illinois requirements
- Experience working in a K-12 school environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work collaboratively with school staff and families
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems
